Bleeding after 20 weeks is haemorrhage until proven otherwise, and four named causes separate cleanly on four features: pain, blood, uterine tone and fetal heart rate. Set each feature and the bench will tell you which diagnosis your combination belongs to — or which of your four findings is the one that does not fit. Then classify early pregnancy loss and ectopic implantation, and finish on the question that decides outcomes: what do you do first?

Every option here is taken from the chapter’s comparison table. Two axes deliberately fail to separate all four conditions — finding out which ones is the point of the exercise.
The findings
Is the hCG rising normally?
A normal early intrauterine pregnancy rises by at least 35 to 50 per cent over 48 hours, and a transvaginal scan should show an intrauterine sac once hCG is around 3,500 mIU/mL.
