The First Move: Intrapartum Emergencies as They Unfold

In every intrapartum emergency the correct first action relieves the mechanical or perfusion problem — lift the presenting part, flex the hips, empty the uterus — and the intuitive action of touching the thing that looks wrong is usually the one that causes harm. Findings arrive one at a time. Act as early as you dare, put HELPERR into order, then name the act that must never happen.
