Near Misses

A handful of word parts differ by one or two letters and mean something anatomically unrelated — and spellcheck will never catch you. Why it matters

Ready.
These pairs cause the errors that survive into charts, because the eye slides right over them. Learn them as deliberate contrasts — the feedback here will always name the part you did not pick and tell you what it would have meant.
