Scalpel, Scope or Stitch: The Procedure Suffix Bench
Reproductive procedures add no new vocabulary at all — they are ordinary suffixes bolted onto the anatomy roots you already own. Pick a structure and a suffix and the bench draws what actually happens to it, names the operation and tells you whether a chart would ever write that word. Pay attention to -ectomy, -otomy and -ostomy: they share a shape and name three different operations.

Choose a structure and a suffix on the left. The diagram will show what the suffix does, and the panel will tell you whether the resulting word is one a chart actually uses.
