⚔ HOW TO PLAY ⚔

🎮 CHOOSE YOUR CHARACTER

  • Rookie (100 HP) — Easy going! You lose just 5 HP per wrong answer. Good for a first run.
  • Runner (130 HP) — Lots of HP and streak bonuses, but losing a streak costs 18 HP.
  • Night Owl (70 HP) — Low HP, double XP. Momentum builds with each right answer.
  • Dr. Garg (150 HP) — Locked! Beat all 7 zones to unlock. Needs 2 wrong in a row to break streak.

🗺 NAVIGATING THE MAP

  • Use Arrow Keys or W A S D on keyboard
  • On phone or tablet, use the D-Pad buttons below the map
  • Walk into a glowing zone portal to enter a boss battle
  • The world has a day/night cycle with rain and lightning at night
  • Use ☰ MENU (top right) to go back to the title screen. Your run is kept.

⚔ BOSS BATTLES

  • Each battle has 20 questions from the zone's topic pool (shuffled each time)
  • Answer using A / B / C / D keys on keyboard, or tap the answer button
  • Each correct answer deals 10 damage to the boss (boss has 100 HP)
  • Wrong answers cost HP (amount varies by character)
  • Read the study tip after each question to lock the idea in
  • Defeat the boss to unlock adjacent zones on the map
  • If the boss survives all 20 questions, you can retry with a fresh set
  • Victory screen shows your score (correct / total) and missed question recap

🔥 STREAKS & XP

  • Consecutive correct answers build a streak multiplier
  • Streaks award bonus XP and gold
  • At streak 5+, your hits show as CRIT with extra damage effects
  • XP levels up your character automatically

🪙 GOLD & CARD SHOP

  • Earn gold from correct answers in battle (bonus gold at 3+ streak)
  • Visit the Card Shop on the map and spend 75 gold for a 3-card pack
  • Cards come in 3 rarities: Common, Rare, and Legendary
  • Each card holds a body fact on the back. Tap to flip it.
  • Collect all 30 cards to complete the set

  • View your full card collection in the Trophy Room on the map
  • Filter cards by rarity: All, Common, Rare, Legendary
  • Tap any card to see its full detail and fact

Dr. Garg did not start out with it all worked out. At Wake Forest University he had no real plan for how to study. He spent hours staring at a page with nothing sticking, and he pulled late shifts behind a bar to pay his way, then came home to work out organic chemistry by trial and error.

That struggle never left him. It became the reason he teaches the way he does.

Over the years he earned a Doctorate of Chiropractic, a Masters in Pharmacology, a Masters in English, a Masters in Chemistry, a Masters in Business Administration, a Masters in Management and Leadership, a Masters in Experience and Learning Design, and a Masters in Higher Education. Each one taught him something new about the subject, and something new about how people learn.

He has taught biology and chemistry since 2007. He co-chaired an Academic Integrity Task Force, and in 2023 he was nominated for the A. Wade Martin Innovator of the Year Award for building free, interactive open learning tools.

Away from the desk he races obstacle courses. He has finished over 150 Spartan Races, earned 37 Trifectas, and covered more than 2,200 kilometers across Spartan, Tough Mudder, Bonefrog and Savage Race. He has run the Spartan Race World Championship and stood on several Ultra OCR podiums. He teaches the way he races a 24 hour event: show up, keep moving, and help the person next to you.

This game exists because he believes good material should be free and should actually work. He built it because he remembers what it felt like to be stuck with no path forward.
