Fertility & Pregnancy Drugs

Three drugs sit along the road to — and through — birth. Clomiphene coaxes an ovary to release an egg, oxytocin drives the uterus to contract in labor, and tocolytics such as magnesium sulfate quiet a uterus in preterm labor. Pick a drug and move its dial: watch the physiology, the bedside monitor, and exactly what the nurse must watch for.
