A teaching model of one square metre of a healthy leaf, built from the standard biochemical model of photosynthesis (rubisco limited and electron transport limited rates, with photorespiration and respiration) and rounded, typical values. Light is photosynthetically active photon flux. Monochromatic light uses the action spectrum of a thin layer of cells; thick leaves use green light somewhat better than this. Animations are sped up and molecule counts are reduced.
Graph and spectrum questions show their picture right away so you can read it. Calculation and prediction questions hide the picture until you answer (or press Show me); then a worked solution or the matching animation plays, with units cancelling (struck through in red).
Your job
Drag a card onto a box, or tap a card and then tap the box's name. Cards are buttons, so Tab and Enter work too.
Data are rounded, illustrative teaching values in line with published trends, not results from one specific study.
Wrong picks are fine here. Each one tells you why.
