The figures and interactives
Every figure in this book was drawn for this book. There are no photographs and no image files anywhere in it. Each figure is vector artwork written straight into the page, so it stays sharp at any size and loads with no network.
The same is true of the 126 interactive lessons. Each one was built for the section it belongs to. The models, the sliders, the drawings and the arithmetic behind them are all original work. Nothing is embedded from another site and nothing is traced from another source.
No part of this book pulls anything down while you read it. Open a chapter with the network switched off and it behaves the same way.
The chapter sequence
The order of the chapters, and the way each one is divided into six sections, follows OpenStax Chemistry 2e. That book is published by OpenStax at Rice University under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International license (CC BY 4.0), and it is credited here as the structural source for this one.
Matching that sequence means a chapter number here lines up with the same chapter number there. Chapters 1 to 11 make up General Chemistry 1. Chapters 12 to 21 make up General Chemistry 2.
The structure is the only thing borrowed. All of the wording, every worked example, every figure, every glossary entry, every check-yourself item and every interactive in this book was written and built fresh by Dr. Akash Garg. Standard constants and measured values are of course the same in any chemistry book. The explanations are not.

This book’s license
This book, its figures and its interactives are released under a Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International license (CC BY-SA 4.0) by Dr. Akash Garg.
That means you may copy it, hand it out, print it, host your own copy and change it, for any purpose, including in a course you teach. Two conditions come with it. You must credit the author, and anything you build on it has to carry the same license so it stays as open as this.

How to credit it
Chemistry by Dr. Akash Garg, released under CC BY-SA 4.0. Chapter structure after OpenStax Chemistry 2e (CC BY 4.0).
If you change something, say so in your own copy. A line such as “adapted from Chemistry by Dr. Akash Garg” is enough.
Type and tools
The pages are set in Fraunces, Source Serif 4 and Inter. All three are open fonts served by Google Fonts, and each carries its own open license. If the fonts cannot load, the pages fall back to a serif and a sans-serif already on your device and read perfectly well.
Everything else is plain HTML, CSS and JavaScript written by hand. There is no framework, no tracking, no account and nothing saved about you.
Errors
Chemistry has to be right before it is readable. If you find a number, a formula or a figure that is wrong, it is worth reporting, and it will be fixed in the next pass through that chapter.
