The -uria Forge and the Urinalysis Reader

One suffix carries most of this chapter’s symptom vocabulary: put almost any root in front of -uria and you have named a finding. Snap parts together on the bench and watch the combining vowel disappear — -uria starts with a vowel, so it always eats the o. Then switch to the Urinalysis reader and translate a real report line by line, including the two lines that separate azotemia from uremia.
